Tracks Of The Week

Here’s what I’m listening to this week…

Warpaint – No Way Out

Warpaint released the radio edit of ‘No Way Out’ a few weeks ago but have now released the full 7 minute version of the track. If you heard ‘No Way Out’ in its 3 minute form and loved it, like me, then wow, just listen. Its amazing.

Say Lou Lou – Nothing but a Heartbeat

OK, so I’m about a month late to this one but just had to include it! I first heard Say Lou Lou when they supported London Grammar on tour just over a year ago and went through a period of listening to them non-stop so was excited to hear this new track. Their debut album is to be released on 6th April so I’m looking forward to hearing more of their dreamy pop.

Tame Impala – Let It Happen

Yes, this track is nearly 8 minutes long but its worth it, honestly. With that first beat I’m instantly reminded of Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love’ and there certainly are 70s influences in this. The beats just seem to swirl around and draw you in. Not often do you want to put an 8 minute track on repeat, but it really comes into its own in the second half and becomes addictive.

Grimes – REALiTi

“This song was never finished. Its a demo from ~ the lost album ~, recorded early 2013.” Grimes released this almost-scrapped track the other day as a thank you to her fans in Asia. All I can say is I’m really glad she did! Its probably my favourite track that I’ve heard from her yet.

Shura – 2shy

As I have mentioned before, I absolutely love Shura’s music. ‘Indecision’ is such a great track and I was intrigued to hear more from her. After its debut last week on Annie Mac’s new Radio 1 show, this track has been getting a lot of support and I just love its 80s-enthused sound.

As always, I hope you’ve enjoyed the tracks! Feel free to comment with any thoughts/suggestions.
