Indie Track of the Week – Colony House

Colony House are an American indie rock trio who released their debut album in the US last year and are now releasing their first UK single, ‘Silhouettes’. The single is a gorgeous indie track just bubbling with an infectious energy. While listening to it I was reminded of Walk the Moon’s ‘Shut Up and Dance’ with its similar carefree style. If you’re in the mood for a new indie track that makes you want to dance, this would definitely be my pick.

New Music Pick of the Week – Pumarosa

Pumarosa‘s debut track ‘Priestess’ is a beautifully hypnotic track with stunning vocals. It is a hugely impressive debut song for a band that, according to their Facebook page, were only founded in February. And, you know they are worth listening to when their song is remixed by electronic-pop force Shura.

Shura takes Pumarosa’s slow, slick and smooth debut track and reworks it into a thumping dance hit, but without losing those entrancing vocals or atmosphere. I fell in love with it on the first listen and hopefully you will too. As I have already written numerous times in this blog, Shura has been one to watch for a little while now and her star is gradually shining brighter. However, Pumarosa are certainly ones to watch too and I doubt their Twitter followers will stay in the hundreds for much longer. I can’t wait to hear more.
